Acrodata Awarded Best ICT Service in Tasmania
Acrodata has received the Best ICT Service award at the annual TasICT awards held in Hobart on Friday, 2 November, 2012. Against an impressive field of finalists, Acrodata was preferred because of its record of delivering for its clients.
John Groom, company founder and General Manager, was present to accept the award and in his acceptance speech praised the Acrodata team. “We have an excellent team of hardworking and loyal staff who constantly not only meet, but also exceed our client’s expectations.”
The Hon David O’Byrne MP, Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology attended the evening on behalf of the Tasmanian government and is excited by the growth and innovation in the Tasmanian ICT sector. “I would like to commend Acrodata and the other award winners on their achievements over the last 12 months. These companies are delivering world-class services both here and elsewhere and we are justifiably proud of their success.”
John Groom attributes the rapid expansion of Acrodata to, amongst other things, the rollout of the NBN. “We think the fact that Tasmania will be the first State to complete the NBN roll-out in its entirety is fantastic for our island. Business is increasingly about the internet and certainly at Acrodata we are performing all transactions and many of our client interactions via broadband.
Tasmania’s economy has seen some traditional industries suffering and this super-fast broadband infrastructure will be the catalyst for new emerging businesses in the business services sector.
At Acrodata we decided strategically some years ago now that we would move our business systems to a cloud model. This allows for our staff to work remotely and at the same time reduces overheads. Having high capacity, super-fast internet allows us to carry out day-to-day transactions and interactions more efficiently.
This major investment in infrastructure will be massively beneficial for business and I’m just delighted that Tassie has been given priority.”
