Founded in 2006 by former lawyer and ICT expert John Groom, Acrodata has experienced an enormous amount of growth since then and is now widely considered to be the Tasmanian leader of records and information management solutions, thanks largely to the team of dedicated and talented staff below
John Groom
John Groom, founder an
d manager of Acrodata, spent 10 years in Melbourne and Sydney honing his skills and experience in the records and information management industry, building an impressive resume while away. John modestly claims that is was a combination of luck and good management that saw him spend part of his time away with a firm specialising in litigation support and document scanning, and the remainder with a world leader in records management.
“I feel extremely fortunate that I was exposed to industry best-practice in the 2 largest commercial centres in Australia”, says John. “I was involved in very large scanning projects such as the conversion of all of Westpac’s mortgage documentation (tens of millions of pages) to digital format as well as consulting to major Australian organisations on their approach to the broad document management challenge,” he said.
It is no surprise that John’s experience combined with his hard working attitude has pushed Acrodata from strength to strength, picking up some major clients along the way. John as a hands on manager is highly involved in the day-to-day operations of Acrodata as well as being an active member of the Tasmanian ICT industry.
Leigh Keane
Leigh is the newest member to the Acrodata team, returning to Tasmania from Sydney where he has worked in project and account management roles for some of Australia’s largest business solutions providers.
Leigh’s experience on the mainland makes him a perfect fit for his new role at Acrodata and has proven himself as a reliable and talented addition in his role as Manager- Bureau Services.
Leigh’s resume includes assisting top ASX listed companies and government agencies in streamlining their business processes and he is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to further his career in his home state.
Tony Miller
Tony has previously worked interstate in document imaging bureaus providing document workflow solutions and currently focuses on web-based data management.
With a bachelor of computing with honours from the University of Tasmania, Tony brings a technical perspective to process design as an Information Management Consultant.
James Groom
After nearly a decade working at major law firms both in Australia and abroad and also a stint as Corporate Counsel at General Electric, James returned to Tasmania to provide specialist corporate advice to clients ranging from start-ups to established listed companies.
James is a member of several private company boards and speaks regularly on corporate governance matters. He has degrees in law and arts (first class honours in political science) from the University of Tasmania. James is a director and also acts as our Commercial Manager.
